U.S. History
This course traces the development of America from the ice age to the present. Emphasized are events which proved significant for the development of American institutions, ideals and leaders. Major events are discussed, evaluated, debated, researched, and compared and contrasted through various methods including plays, films, text and websites.

World Geography
World Geography deals with the political and the geographical regions found throughout the world, the five themes of geography, and the cause and effect relationships that exist. Students will learn about the cultural, political, and historical geography of each region studied.

Alaska History
Alaska History is a one-semester class required for graduation. In this class students will be introduced to the geography of the six regions of Alaska and will study the state's history from the Russian Period up to current events and local issues. Relevant movies and guest speakers will be utilized throughout the course. Students will be expected to read one fiction and one non-fiction book and write a book review for each book during the semester. Students will also create an exhibit for the Alaska History Museum final project.

United States Government
United States Government, a year-long course, is a senior level class required for graduation. During the first semester, students will focus on the study of the foundation of our current system of government. Other topics covered will include the justice system, economic system, and foreign policies and relations. Second semester study emphasizes current world problems, and analysis of the position and relationship of the United States to these issues. Students are expected to complete a final project at the end of each semester.
